F. John Seyer died at the age of 94 on Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Houston.
He was born on the Feb. 6, 1915, in Rowena, Texas.
He grew up in Bellville where he attended Bellville High School and was a star football player.
He moved to Houston, attended Business College, and began a 44 year career with the Houston
Terminal Warehouse and Cold Storage Company rising to Vice-President and Superintendent.
After retirement he continued to actively volunteer at the Arabia Shine Temple, in the Greeters
Unit, Tuesday Luncheon Club and The Shriners Hospital for Children.
His wife of 49 years, Annette Seyer, predeceased him in 1990.
He is survived by his daughter Karen and her husband Glenn Dunn of Oklahoma City, his son John F.
Seyer of Sugar Land and grandchildren Janet, Michael, Sean, William, and James.
Friends were cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 12,
in the Parlor of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, the April 13, in the St. Luke’s
Presbyterian Church, 8915 Timberside Drive in Houston.
The interment immediately followed, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Seyer may be directed to the
Shriners Hospital for Children, attention donations, 6977 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77030.
