Earl L. Steck, 85, passed away Jan. 18, 2009.
He was born in Sealy, on July 30, 1923.
Earl graduated from Sugarland High School in 1942. He went to work at Shell Oil Refinery and then
served his country by joining the Army. Earl was in 129th Signal Radio Intelligence Company where he drove a truck under combat conditions in the European Theater
After the war he returned to Shell where he worked until he retired in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marcus and Norma Steck, his brother Eugene Steck, his wife
of 53 years Lucile Steck and his son Wayne Allen Steck.
Earl is survived by brothers Hover Steck and wife Helen, William Steck and wife Ruth, Dean Steck,
Marcus Steck and wife Jenna. Daughters Judy Replogle and husband Mahlon, Diana Harwell, Son Duane Steck and wife Rhonda. Six granddaughters, Brenda Tankersley and
husband Jason, Rebecca Nelon and husband Greg, Angela Brenn, Jennifer Hanlon, Lauren Harwell, and Stacia Replogle. One step grandson Ryan Harr. He had 11 great
grandchildren, Shelby Tankersley, Chase, Kamryn, and Blake Nelon, Jalen, Diamond, Cullin and Corey Brenn, Keaton Hanlon, Gavin Harwell and Jeremy Replogle. 2 step
great grandsons, Matthew and Patrick Tankersley. Numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
A visitationwas held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer
A celebration of Earl’s life was held Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Grand View
Funeral Home. Interment followed in Grand View Memorial Park.
