Funeral services for Arthur H. Wammel, 92, of Bellville were held on Saturday, Dec.5, 2009 at 1 p.m. from Knesek
Bros. Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Michael R Button, officiating. Interment was in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Kopysinski, Joe Bauer, Douglas Fewell, Carl Farley, Harry Brast, Clifton Frank and Wayne
Prior to the funeral visitation was held on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel.
Arthur was born on Nov. 12, 1917 in Bellville to parents, Fred F. Wammel and Adele Muery Wammel.
He was raised in Houston and graduated from John Reagan High School in 1934.
Arthur married Jewel G. Gross in Houston on Dec. 1, 1938.
In 1945 he moved to Bellville. He worked as a computer manager in the oil industry later retiring from Texaco
after 47 years of service.
Arthur has joined his beloved wife Jewel Wammel in heaven.
He passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 in Brenham.
Arthur was a kind and gentle man who was loved by all who met him and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his two sons, Arthur W. Wammel and wife, Debbie and Kenneth L. Wammel and wife, Lynn.
Arthur was fortunate to have 7 grandchildren, Eric, Arthur Franz, Hans (wife Nadia), Kristina (husband Joe), Allison, Stephen and Alyssa as well as 3 great
grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Sasha, all who adored him.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jewel Wammel, sister, Hazel McKenzie and brothers, Alvin and
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
