Willie T. Winkelmann, Jr., 89, born on July 15, 1920 in Kenney passed away on Sept. 18, 2009 in Houston. 

Willie was a Charter member of Advent Lutheran Church.  He was a proud WW II Navy Veteran; Past 22nd District Commander American Legion State of Texas; life member, American Legion, Post 654 where he held many offices and life member of the VFW Post 8790. Owner and operator of W.T. Winkelmann Construction.

Preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Sophie Tiemann Winkelmann; wife, Alita Maurer; daughter, Joyce Ann Winkelmann; brothers and sisters, Raymond Winkelmann, Ida Schwartz, Wilbert Winkelmann and Reinhard Winkelmann.  Survived by sons, Billy Winkelmann and wife Pam, Kirby Winkelmann and wife Debra, Kevin Winkelmann and wife Lisa.  Grandchildren, Eric and Michele Winkelmann, Brian and Dawn Winkelmann, Chris Winkelmann, Jayme Winkelmann, Zachary Winkelmann and Joshua Winkelmann; great grandchildren, Tyler and Lucas Winkelmann and Alasen Hogan.  Brothers and sisters, Esther Dahmann, Anita Bender, Leroy Winkelmann, Earline Wellmann and Odell Winkelmann.  Also surviving is a host of many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family was held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Waltrip Funeral Directors.

Services were 10 a.m., Tuesday, Advent Lutheran Church, 5820 Pinemont,  Rev. Larry Beck officiating.

Interment with full military honors followed in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Advent Lutheran Memorial Fund.
