Gerald Taylor “Jerry” Cochran was born on April 5, 1955 in Houston, Texas to
Virgil Cleavland Cochran, Jr. and Kathleen Wasicek Cochran.
On March 25, 1995, he married Debby Huebner Kurtz in Katy, Texas.
He has lived in the Katy area for the past 15 years, where he was a manager and
courier for Lone Star Overnight.
Jerry was a loving husband, father and brother, who loved traveling, fishing,
grilling, cruising and spending time with his family and friends.
He lived life to the fullest and always put the needs of others before his.
His life brought unconditional love, pure joy and unbelievable humor to his
family and friends.
His silly jokes and amazing sense of humor will always be in our hearts. we
were incredibly blessed to have him in our lives and miss him deeply.
Gerald Taylor “Jerry” Cochran passed away on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 in
Matagorda, Texas at the age of 55 years.
He is survived by his wife, Debby Cochran of Katy: Step-daughters, Keeley Kurtz
and Kelsey Kurtz, both of Houston; brother, Rollin Cochran and his wife Vicki of Corsicana, Texas; twin brother, Jim Cochran, and his wife, Wanda, of the
Woodlands; his niece and nephew, Katie Cochran and Matthew Cochran; and his beloved beagle, Riley Cochran.
Jerry is also survived by his niece, Shannon Wells and her husband Brad Wells and
their son Lincoln Wells; and his nephew, Chris Cochran and his wife Lori Cochran and their daughter Kayla.
His loving family also includes Osie Lock, Debby’s mother; Denise Roberts and
Randall Roberts, Debby’s sister and brother-in-law; Natalie Nutter, Debby’s niece; and grandniece, Lauren Pullen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Cleavland Cochran, Jr. and
Kathleen Wasicek Cochran.
The family received friends on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at the Schmidt Funeral
Home Chapel in Katy. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at the Holy Covenant United Methodist Church in Katy with Rev. Dale Chance and
Rev. Stephanie Lind officiating. A reception followed at the church. Graveside Services were held at Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Salvaggio, Matt Cochran, Chris Cochran, Dean Kollatschny,
Arleigh Pfeffer, Mike Klesel, Wal Jean Janacek and Buzz Parks.
