Hintz
Services for Myrtle L. Hintz, 87, of Brenham, were conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday,
Aug. 24, 2010, from Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Phil Fenton officiating. Internment Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Bellville. Pallbearers: Dwayne Hintz, Joseph
Barham, Daniel Rains, Aaron Phillips, Justin Kmiec.
Born June 26, 1923 in New Wehdem to Fritz and Freida (Schroeder) Hegemeyer. She
died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 in Bryan. She was educated in the New Wehdem and Industry Schools.
She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church of New Wehdem and confirmed at
St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham.
She married Chester Hintz, Sr. on Sept. 13, 1941 in Industry. Besides being a
housewife, Myrtle worked for several years at Feltchers Bakery and Brenham Rest Home until her retirement where she was the head cook.She enjoyed cooking,
dancing, playing cards, dominoes, and spending time with her family.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Sonny Coffman,
brother and sister-in-law Richard and Sadie Assmann. Special niece and nephew; Clara Mae Surrett and Jimmy Vasut; special friends Robert and Frieda Pruess.
Survived by daughter, Cheri Barham and husband Earnest of Brenham. Sons: Allen
Wayne Hintz of Bellville, Chester Hintz and wife Linda of Cypress. Brother, Roger Hegemeyer and wife Billie Jean of Bellville.
Grandchildren; Amy Rains, Dwayne Hintz, Nancy Coffmann Phillips, Joseph Barham,
Shelia Kmiec, Melissa Vest.
Great grandchildren; Frank and Dustin Cline, Hailey and Isabelle Rains; Brianna
and Christian Coffman, Landon Phillips; Colby, Carter Cameron, Carson Barham; Kaitlyn and Layne Vest. Numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends Bonnie Brown,
Betty Wehmeyer and Gertrude Lehrmann.
The family thanks all staff of the Brenham Care Center and St. Joseph Regional
