Funeral Services for August J. “Gus” Kutach, Jr., 88, of
East Bernard, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with the Rev. Don Ruppert celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Commital.
Interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard.
Pallbearers were Joe Sulak, Kenneth Kubicek, Jason Brunner, Henry Jetelina, Bobby Kutach and Carlos Heitman.
August Joe Kutach, Jr. was born in Hallettsville to parents,
August J. Kutach and Theresa Drexler Kutach. He was raised in Hallettsville and moved to East Bernard in 1933.
On April 10, 1945 “Gus” married the former Miss Isabel Sulak
at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis.
He worked all his life as a farmer and rancher, had an egg farm
and drove the school bus for the Catholic Church and public school in East Bernard for 15 years and also worked at the Orchard Gin.
Gus was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. His hobbies were
listening to Old Time Country music and he loved to play Dominoes.
The family would also like to thank his care giver Rachel
Ramirez of Eagle Lake for her excellent care over the last year. A.J. thought of her as a very close friend not only his care giver.
Gus passed away in Houston on July 31, 2010.
Survivors include his son Daryl Kutach of East Bernard,
grandchildren, Ross Kutach and wife Mindy of East Bernard and Nikki Kutach of San Antonio, great-granddaughter, Kendall Elizabeth Kutach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August J. and Theresa
Kutach, wife, Isabel Kutach, sister, Augusta “Gussie” Murrile Meith and Tonie Jetelina, brothers Pete, Ben, Rudy, Felix and Edward Kutach.
