Mr. Lester Lamp passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, at the age of 91.
Lester Lamp was born to Richard and Mathilda Lamp on Dec. 20, 1918 in Bellville. He was baptized on June 31,
1930 and confirmed on March 20, 1932 in St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.
In 1938, Lester met his wife Eunice, and they were married on March 7, 1943, in Baytown.
Lester grew up on a farm in Austin County and attended school there.
In 1939, he moved to Houston to attend Massey Business College.
In 1940, he was employed by American Republics Corp., a conglomerate in the oil, banking, shipbuilding,
accounting, and iron works business.
During1942-1946, he served in the armed forces. After attending Pasadena City College in Pasadena, Calif.,
he served in the Adjutant Generals Office and Finance Office until his discharge in 1946.
Upon his return to Houston, he was employed by Exxon Company until his retirement in 1984.
He & his wife enjoyed many long trips to the Bitterroot area of Montana before and during his retirement.
In 1992, they moved from Houston to Fredericksburg, where they made many new friends.
Lester Lamp is survived by his wife, Eunice; one daughter: Betty and husband Starr Kealhofer III of San Antonio;
one granddaughter: Courtney Barth and husband John of Mountain View, Calif.; one grandson: Starr Kealhofer IV and wife Lisa, and his great-grandson: Starr
Kealhofer V all of St. Cloud, Fla.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, and an older sister, Leona Muery.
Services for Lester Lamp were 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec.1, in Bethany Lutheran Church. Graveside services followed
in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Bethany Lutheran Church.
