Helen Esther Billig Morgan, 84 years of age, left this earth on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She was
born Aug. 9, 1925, at home on the farm outside of Sealy, Austin County to Henrietta and Edward Claude Billig. She lived in a house her father built, until she
went away to nursing school. Helen was the next youngest of 10 children and remained close to her brothers and sisters her entire life. Growing up in the rich
soil area of the Brazos river bottom would forever influence Helen as she always loved working the earth.
Helen is survived by her sister, Alice Cockrell of Albany, Texas, Mildred Kaechele of Giddings,
Erwin Billig (Delores) of Giddings, Marie Stephens of Salem, Ore., Herbert Billig (Bernice) of Caldwell, and Leon Oscar (Mike) Billig (Virginia) of Burnet. She is
also survived by all seven of her children, Loran Thomas Morgan of Austin, Jeannine White (Ronnie) of Bremond, Curtis Morgan who is currently in Iraq, Mary
Elizabeth Cofer (George) of Austin, Nancy Robin Morgan (Phil Ellis) of Newtown Square, Penn. , Keith Morgan (Gigi Jensen) of Houston and Patrick Morgan of Salem,
Ore. Additionally Helen had 10 grandchildren, beginning with John White, Rebecca White-Marshall, Loran Lee Morgan, II, Nicolas Morgan, Jessica Morgan, Travis
Morgan, Hanna Robin Morgan-Denman, Annie Jensen-Morgan, Olive Jensen-Morgan and Eyob Randall Jensen-Morgan. Her great grandchildren are Jacob White, Miranda
Marshall and Tyler Watson. She also had many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Heards Prairie Baptist
Church outside of Bremond, and internment will be in the Heards Prairie Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Hearne, is handling the arrangements, and Pastor Dale
Lehfeldt of Faith Lutheran Church, Mexia, Texas is officiating. Pallbearers will be John White, Jimmy Marshall, Lee Morgan, Nicolas Morgan, Travis Morgan, Jacob
White, Tyler Watson, Ricky Billig and Kevin Billig.
