Alex Osanik, 96, of Bellville, Texas, died peacefully on Oc. 17, 2010, at Kruse Village nursing home in Brenham.
He was born Sept. 21, 1914 in Astoria, Oregon, to Alex and Anna (Lauvert) Osanik.
He served in the United States Navy from 1942 - 1946, and loved the small town life.
A member of the Bellville Historical Society, he conducted tours of the Jail Museum, and participated in other
local activities. He could be found most weekday mornings having coffee with his friends at Newman’s Bakery, and in the afternoon, reading the paper, enjoying
his pipe or cigar in the garage. A man of few words, but endless wisdom.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emily Shutt Osanik, of Bellville, formerly of Shreveport, La., one
daughter Alexis L. Osanik, now of Bellville, formerly of Aurora, Colo., and one granddaughter, Summer M. Osanik-Bell, of Aurora, Colo.
He chose to be cremated, a gathering of family and friends will be held at his home, 1190 S. Holland, Bellville,
Texas 77418, on Friday Nov. 5, 2010, from 5 – 8 pm.
