Laura Mae (Heidemann) Slacik, 82, of New Ulm, passed away, Tuesday, March 16, 2010. She was born in Industry, to
F. W. and Alma (Kaase) Heidemann on Feb. 29, 1928.
Laura attended school in New Wehdem. She married Charles F. Slacik, Jr., on Nov. 11, 1947 in the New Wehdem
Her love was playing and winning at dominoes, and dancing. She was a member of the CTS Fan Club and Band, and the
Nelsonville Brethren Church.
Funeral Services were held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Nelsonville Brethren Church, 332 Nelsonville
Church Road in Nelsonville with the Rev. Michael Groseclose, officiating. Burial followed in the National Cemetery, Nelsonville.
Pallbearers were Troy Schomburg, Greg Giebel, Larry Slacik, Garrett Sidel, Donnie Wenzel and Leebert Brune.
Honorary Pallbearers were members of the CTS Fan Club and Band; Milton Thiel, Leslie Williams, Wesley Williams,
Robbie Buntzel, and George Thiel.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter; Janice Plagens, sister; Evelyn Wensel, and brothers in
law; Walter Wensel and J.W. Williams. On the day of her passing she lost a special friend, Jerry Krenek.
She is survived by a daughter Geraldine Siptak and husband, Buddy of Nelsonville; sisters, Ella Mae Buntzel and
husband, Robert of Houston, and Betty Williams of Brenham; brothers, Glenton Heidemann and wife, Hilda of Everman and Dennis Heidemann and wife, Kathy of
Georgetown; son-in-law, Daniel Plagens of Latium; grandchildren Shane and Marsha Siptak, Trace Siptak and Jodie, Cody Plagens, and Penny and Brian Stolz. great
grandchildren Brett Zapalac-Siptak, Colby Siptak, Haily Siptak, Hanna Siptak, Karli Siptak, and Andrew Stolz.
