Dorothy Lee (Moore) Tipp passed away on Wednesday. Dec. 22 in Sealy
She was born on Oct. 31, 1927, in Lake Charles, La., to Hardy and Albertina (Dobbertina) Moore, was baptized in
the Holy Name Catholic Church on Oct.21. 1952, received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Assumption Catholic Church on March 24, 1963.
Later joined Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was confirmed on Dec. 15, 1965.
She graduated from Jeff Davis High School and completed secretarial college. From there worked at Fulton
Stationary Co. in Houston.
On June 24, 1967 she was united in marriage to Leaburn F. Tipp in Bellville. They lived in Sealy, where they
continued to raise four children. From there she worked at Virnau’s in Sealy, and then at the County Clerk’s office, in Bellville.
Later completed her work history keeping the books and being secretary for L. Tipp Trucking Co.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to the Shepard’s Way Church, also. Had been a
member of the women’s American Legion.
She will always be remembered as a very hard worker and enjoyed cooking and being outside with all her plants and
She is survived by her daughter Nieta and husband Jack Lorentz of Brenham, son Frank and wife Karen of Bellville;
daughter Leilani and husband Larry of Sealy, and son Hardy and wife Sharon of Florida; grandchildren Tina and Jared Johnston of Brenham, Keith Lorentz of Brenham,
Tammy Lorentz of Brenham, Lezlie and husband Travis Askew of Sealy, Stephanie White of Sealy, Kent, Reed, Manda, and Pearce Howren of Sealy, and Stephan of
Florida; brother-in-laws Winston and wife Gloria Tipp. and Otis Tipp; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leaburn, parents Hardy and Albertina Moore, sisters Gladys Miller,
Matilda Harper, Henrietta Clark, Myrtle Henry, brothers Hardy Moore Jr,, Buddy Moore, and George Moore, in-laws Frank and Louise Tipp, sisters-in-law Frances
(Tipp) Kern, Carolyn Tipp and Barbara Tipp.
Memorials can be made to Brazos Valley Hospice, in Brenham, or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Knesek Bros. in Sealy. The funeral was held on Dec. 27 at
Trinity Lutheran Church with burial following in the Sealy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Clark, Darrell Clark, John Harper, Jimmy Harper, Leon Kollatschny and Todd Dierschke.
Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Blackmon and James (Bubba) Duke.
