Grace Virginia (Kiesewetter) Blezinger was born March 27, 1920, in Bellville, the daughter of Henry and Hulda (Wietstruck) Kiesewetter. She grew up in Burleigh and attended school in the area and graduated from Bellville High School in 1936.

On Feb. 21, 1942, she married Herbert Blezinger in Bellville.  Grace and Herbert made their home in San Antonio , for a year before moving back to Bellville where they were members of the St. John Lutheran Church .

Grace devoted her life to being a good wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was a member of the Sons of Hermann, American Legion Auxiliary, Austin County Farm Bureau, Mary Martha Circle , Bluebonnet Garden Club, and she sang in the church choir for 40 years. In her free time Grace enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, needlepoint, reading, and playing cards.

Grace passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Bellville at the age of 91.

She is survived by her daughter Verleen Peden and her husband, Gary, of Katy; grandsons  Blake Peden and his wife, Jamie, of Frisco, Brad Peden and his wife, Melissa, of Missouri City, and Britt Peden, of Houston; great grandchildren Tyler and Brooke Peden and Emily Grace and Ashlee Peden; nephew Don Parker and his wife, Kathy, of Carrollton, and their sons Neil Parker of Lewisville, and Andy Parker of Bedford. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Annie Lee Peschel and her husband, Newton , of Industry, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Blezinger, in 1977, her parents Henry and Hulda Kiesewetter, sister Myra Parker, 2 infant brothers, and 1 infant sister.

Visitation, 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011, Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville.

Funeral service, 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, St. John Lutheran Church , Bellville, the Rev. Jill Bivroux, officiating.

Interment, Oak Knoll Cemetery , Bellville.
