John Roger Bosse, 71, of Brenham, passed away Dec. 18, 2011 at his residence.
Born March 2, 1940 in Brenham to Willie and Ella Nora (Strangmeyer) Bosse, John was baptized April 14, 1940 in
St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, and confirmed April 11, 1954 in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. He graduated from Brenham High
School, attended Blinn College and received his graduate degree from Sam Houston State University.
Memberships included the Buccaneer Alumni Letterman Association, Inc., and the Brenham Elks Lodge.
In addition, he was a lifetime member of the Sam Houston State University Letterman’s Association, as well
as the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association.
John was well known locally in the sales and service of firearms, and was a lifetime member of the National
Rifle Association.
Survivors include sons Ricky Dean Bosse (Melisa) of Brenham; Ryan Dale Bosse (Patricia) of Humble, Rodney Dale
Weidemann of Lyons, and Randy Dane (Jolie) Weidemann of Brenham; grandchildren: Broc Ryan Bosse, John Paul Rodriguez, Dane Christian Weidemann, Deanna Lee
Bosse; brother and sister-in-law William Reinhardt and Doris Bosse of Houston, and a niece, Kelly Ann Bosse, also of Houston.
Preceding John in death were his parents, Willie and Ella Bosse.
Serving as pallbearers are Weldon Gaskamp, Ned Butler, Clarence Gerke, Finney Clay, Marvin Jurries, James
Giese, Calvin Janner, Jack Murski, and Jerry Joe Vaughn.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Christian Day School.
Funeral services were scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church, with Pastor Kenneth Moerbe officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will take place Wednesday evening from 5 until 7
p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
