Funeral services for Dorothy Palmer (Dotty) Evans, 85, originally of Aransas Pass, were set for 11
a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Ave, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Burial followed at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hypolite Perthius
Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Dorothy dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age. She had a loving Christian nature and touched
many people during her lifetime.
On Dec. 27, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to William Lee Evans, whom she had known since first
At the age of 20, she enrolled at Mary Hardin Baylor University, where she majored in music and
minored in English. After graduation, her dreams shifted from being a concert pianist to motherhood and spreading her love of music to as many children as
possible through piano lessons.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle T. Palmer and Meta May Hepler Palmer; husband,
William L. Evans; two daughters, Meta Lee Evans and Dorothy Doyle McKinney; and four brothers.
Dorothy leaves behind to celebrate her life, two sons, Les and Alice Evans and Larry and Beth Evans;
6 grandchildren, Sheila and Phillip Sutherland, Brandy and Melvin Phillips, Tammy Reese, Faith Evans, Robert Evans, and Ashley Higgins; and 12 great
Serving as Pallbearers are Raymond Huskey, Ken Haverlaugh, Tom McClendon, John Richardson, Robert
Taylor, and Barry Feldt. Honorary Pallbearer is Terri Porter.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Blue Bell Road,
