Leona Mae Frank, 99, of Bryan, passed away in Bryan, on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.
She was born in Bellville, on Oct. 19, 1912 to Walter R. Viereck and Emma (Strauss) Viereck.
She attended school in Bellville and was a member of the Bellville High School Class of 1931. After attending
Business School in Houston, she was employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Leona married A. C. Frank on Feb. 9, 1936 in Bellville.
She attended St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville where she was baptized on Nov. 7, 1919, confirmed on April
10, 1927 and was a member of the Merry Club and the ALCW. Leona kept the church attendance records beginning in 1981.
She is survived by her sister Helen Winder of Bryan; nephews Clay Winder of Bryan; Randy Viereck of Bellville;
a niece Linda Pope of Houston; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Leona was predeceased by her husband A.C. Frank in 1977, her father in 1923, her mother in 1984, and a brother
James Viereck in 1974.
A graveside service and interment was held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville,
Texas. Members of her family served as pallbearers.
