Holba
Funeral services for Hazel Holba, 84, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church
in Bellville with the Rev. Steve Olsen officiating.
Interment was in the Washam Family Cemetery in Buckhorn. Pallbearers were Gene Wiestruck, Odis Maresh,
Dennis Steck, Stacey Holba, John Holba, Kevin Holba and Larry Wiestruck.
Hazel Holba was born in Buckhorn Community, to parents John E. and Alice (Crawford) Washam. She was raised in
Buckhorn and attended Bellville Schools.
On March 20, 1945 the former Miss Hazel Washam was joined in marriage to Mr. Lessing Holba with a ceremony
held in Bellville. She was a homemaker. Hazel was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Bellville.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Holba and wife JoAnn of Oak Hill and Mikel Holba and wife Christine of
Bellville, sisters, Marie Brune and husband Herbert of Sealy and Hettie Falk of Bellville, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numberous nieces
and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Washam, husband Lessing Holba, brothers, Tom Washam and John
Washam, sisters, Louise Wiestruck, Charlowe Cannon and Varnell Jasek.
