David W. Holmes, Esq., 61, of New Ulm, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Brenham.
David was born in Paris, Texas, on Aug. 23, 1949, to Charles Holmes and Joanne (Crouch) Holmes. He married his
high school sweetheart, Dr. Carroll Lee Harvill Holmes on July 26, 1969.
He graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in photojournalism and later completed a law
degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 1980.
He practiced law full time in Paris, Texas, until becoming an LVN in 1996. He greatly enjoyed working
with the patients and staff at Texana in Bay City.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Knight Templar. He loved to travel, FaceBook, tell jokes, and spend
time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Carroll Holmes, of New Ulm; a daughter, Dr. Cassandra Bryant, of Burton;
granddaughters, Bethany and Victoria Bryant of Burton; sisters Joni Weatherley and husband, Freddie, of Fort Worth, and Evelyn Oliveros and husband, Robbie,
of Cleburne, Texas; brothers Allen Boatwright of Fort Worth, and Robert Holmes of Royce City, Texas; mother-in-law, Juanita Harvill of Burton; sister-in-law,
Sue Kapchinskie of Baytown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John L. Holmes, and sister, Lois Barton.
