Ella Mae Koehn, age 91, of Temple, and sister of Lu Ellen Luedke, died Friday, May 13, 2011 in a local
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Ken Hovland officiating. Burial
followed at Greathouse Cemetery. Visitation was 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Koehn was born Sept. 20, 1919 in Bellville to William Henry Froebel, Jr. and Leontina (Pless) Froebel.
She was baptized on June 13, 1920 and confirmed on April 9, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.
She graduated from Bellville High School in May, 1938. She married Raymond Fritz Koehn on Oct. 26, 1941 and
shortly thereafter moved to Temple.
In addition to her role of homemaker and mother, she worked in various roles outside her home, most recently
with the Texas Rehabilitation Commission.
She and her family were active members of First Lutheran Church in Temple where she served with the Worship
Committee, the Altar Guild, the Beehive Quilters and the Flower Fund.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on May 23, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Earl Koehn and wife, Beverly of San Antonio, two daughters, Nancy Rae
Taylor and husband, James of Leander and Kristina Ann Hubik and husband, Robert of Bedford; five grandchildren, Mellissa Crandall and husband, Jason of
Watauga, Zachary Taylor and wife, Christy of Lubbock, Troy Taylor of Denton, Mindy Montgomery and husband, Troy of Watauga and Melanie Hubik of Indianapolis,
Ind. and six great-grandchildren, Joseph and Morgan Crandall, Payce and Knox Taylor and Landry and Mason Montgomery. Also surviving are two brothers, Wilfred
Froebel of Brookshire, Lee Vernon Froebel of Temple and two sisters, Lu Ellen Luedke of Bellville and Waldine Lipsey of Oakwood.

Luedke, J. W. Luedke and Ralph Wittner.
