Mrs. Eunice Lamp passed away Dec. 14, at the age of 91.
Eunice was born Feb. 11, 1920 to Richard and Annie Thaemar Strauss in Bellville. Eunice was the
youngest of 6 children and grew up on the family farm in Bellville.
She graduated from Bellville High School in 1938 and went on to attend Ed-Rose Commercial College in Houston.
After graduation, she returned to Bellville and was employed in the Bellville Abstract Company and as a deputy in the County Clerk’s office.
On March 7, 1943, Eunice married Lester L. Lamp. Eunice was a homemaker until her one daughter, Betty Jean,
went to college. She then began a career at Sakowitz in Houston where she attended to such clients as Lady Bird Johnson and Nelly Connally.
In 1992, they moved to Fredericksburg where they enjoyed traveling around the Texas Hill Country and became
active members of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Eunice Lamp is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, a sister, and her husband Lester.
She is survived by her daughter B.J. and husband Starr Kealhofer III of San Antonio; granddaughter
Courtney Barth and husband John of Mountain View, Calif.; grandson Starr Kealhofer IV and wife Lisa, and great grandson Starr Kealhofer V, of
Saint Cloud, Fla. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Dec. 19, in Bethany Lutheran Church. Graveside services followed in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, The Edna Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort
Worth, or the charity of one’s choice.
