Bonita Marie Brisco Pope of Rosenberg passed away on July 2, 2011 in Temple. Born on Oct. 14, 1950 in
Hallettsville to Harry A. Brisco, Sr. and Grace H. (Kiefer) Brisco.
Bonita was a vibrant woman and a true example to others. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and
if you had the pleasure to share only a few moments with her, a friend to all.
Bonita was generous in all aspects of her life. She never met a stranger and always tried to leave
you with a smile. To truly know Bonita you would know that she loved life. She tried to live life to the fullest.
One of her passions was to follow “Her Band” Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88’s. She had many other
interests such as traveling, shopping, being with friends and family as educating Rosenberg’s children. She was employed with Lamar CISD for 24 years, her
most recent assignment at Bowie Elementary. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child was a new adventure with each year she was in education. She loved
knowing that she made a difference in the life of a child and had many success stories.
The family of Bonita would like all to know that our world has lost a loving, giving example and that
Heaven has gained an angel…. The world was a better place because Bonita was in it, and our world will never be the same. We pray peace in this house, peace
in our hearts, and peace for family with Bonita being at rest.
Bonita is preceded in death by her parents, sister Beverly Kay Brisco, and husband Reginald R. Pope.
She is survived by daughter, Amanda Grace Pope of Rosenberg; brother, Harry A. Brisco, Jr. and wife
Karen of Bellville; nephew, Justin Brisco and wife Ellen of The Woodlands (with great nieces, Elizabeth and Martha Brisco), niece, Rebecca Velasquez and
