Monte Richards, 69, of Bellville, Texas passed away, Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Richmond, Texas. Monte was born in Houston, Texas on February 23, 1942 to Pat and Billie (Roberts) Richards. He served in the US Army obtaining the rank of Specialist 4.

Monte is survived by his mother Billie Richards of Brenham, Texas. Daughters; Ann Brown of Martinburg, West Virginia and Phyllis Garcia and her husband Ignacio of San Antonio, Texas. Brother Stacy M. Richards of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren; Alex Elizabeth, Madline, and Meagan, and grandson Jerry Winkelmann.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Sylvia, his father and a brother Robin Richards.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from the Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, 842 E Main, Belliville, Texas.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 from the West End Baptist Church, in Industry with Rev. Dennis Keen officiating. Burial followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Industry, Texas. Pallbearers were his brother, Stacy M. Richards, Ronnie Oldham, Roland Reynolds, Ernie Leach, Kelly Richards, and Ignacio Garcia.
