Leina Frances (Schneider) Smidovec, 88, of La Grange, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Monument Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Leina was born on March 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Schmid) Schneider. She married Louis Smidovec on October 19, 1943.

Leina was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Society.

She is survived by daughter, Geraldine Orsak and husband I.J. of Fayetteville; granddaughters Karen Peschel and husband Wayne of Bellville and Jan Chovanec and husband David of Fayetteville; great grandchildren JW, Mavrick, Jordan and Jesse Evans, Rebecca Noska, Kyle and Carson Peschel; three sisters Leona Muzny, Laura Muzny and Gladys Tobias and husband Leroy all of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Louis; sister Elizabeth Hollan; three brothers-in-law; Elo F. and Elo Muzny, and Leroy Hollan; one nephew David Hollan.

Pallbearers where Wayne Peschel, David Chovanec, Jerry Muzny, Marvin Hollan, Larry Tobias and Robert Smidovec. Honorary Pallbearers where JW Evans, Mavrick Evans, Jesse Evans, Kyle Peschel and Carson Peschel.

Funeral Services where held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 22. Burial followed at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger.
