Brian Lee South passed away at home on March 8, 2011, with his family, after enduring a valiant but arduous
battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on Galveston island (“B.O.I.”) on Dec. 4, 1948, Brian “grew up” in Galveston.
Brian left the island to attend Texas Tech University, where he received his B.A. in Accounting, and counted
beans for a living thereafter.

A few years after marrying, Brian and Carol had two children, Eric and Reagan, and relocated from Houston to
Bellville. After having children, Brian and Carol still enjoyed traveling, concerts, and laughing, all with the kids.
Brian is survived by his wife, Carol South; son, Eric South and his wife, Jamie, and their beautiful daughter,
Edie, of Dallas; daughter, Reagan South, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; mother, Marian South, sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Otto Welper. Brian was preceded
in death by his father, Lee South, whom he looks forward to seeing.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, or to the Austin County
Chapter of the American Cancer Society. A private memorial will be held at a date to be determined.
