Agnes Strickland, 89, of San Felipe, Texas, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at her residence in
She was born in Dobbin, Texas on July 9, 1922 to Raymond and Mary (Gabel) Mattern. Her favorite hobby
was Gourmet Cooking, but enjoyed bowling, dominoes, camping and travel. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek.
Agnes is survived by her daughter; Noah Hankins and husband Terry of San Felipe, Texas. Sons; Raymond
Strickland and wife Molly and Espy Strickland all of San Felipe, Texas. A brother Robert Mattern and wife Mary of Pasadena, Texas. Grandchildren; Raymond
Strickland, Jr. and wife Holly, Kevin Strickland and wife Mandy, Janet Strickland, Troy Strickland, Clay Strickland, Jimmy Strickland, Courtney Ocanis and
fiancé Eric, Shelby Hurley and husband Neill, Gary Keeton, Jr., and Roger Hankins and wife Candy. 12 Great grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Monroe R. Strickland, Sr., son, Monroe R.
Strickland, Jr., grandson, Monroe R. Strickland, III, and a sister Anna Mary Frank.
Visitation was held from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at
the Knesek Bros Fourth Street Chapel.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
– Frydek, with Rev. Thuy Nguyen celebrating the mass with Deacon Jerome Losak. Pallbearers were Kevin Strickland, Raymond Strickland, Jr., David Strickland,
Gary Keeton, Jr. Neill Hurley, Roger Hankins, Jerry Brown, and Eric Bastien.
