Funeral services for Delmer “Dick” Tipp, 77, of Sealy were held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. from First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lani Rousseau and Rev. Becky Downs co-officiating. 

Interment followed in the Sealy Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jacob Tipp, Oliver Weishuhn, Lee Janszen, Larry Hillmer, Michael Brune, Kenny Sandlin, Malcolm Dittert, and Elgien Konesheck.  Honorary pallbearers were Randall Tipp, Tommy Brune, Louis “Honky” Rossler, Tommy Wise, Eddie Ray Lux, Bill Johnson, Alan Uhlig, and Glenn Brandt.

Delmer “Dick” Tipp, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home.

He was born on July 12, 1934 in Bernardo, Colorado County to Max and Alice (Kveton) Tipp. Dick attended school in Cleveland and graduated from Sealy High School in 1953.

He married Carolyn Lux on June 16,1972 at First United Methodist Church in Sealy.

Dick served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 and held the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.

Dick was a member of First United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, Austin County Livestock Association, Austin County Game and Fish, Texas Sportsman, a Lifetime Member of Sealy FFA, Past Director of Austin County Farm Bureau, American Legion and the 2000 Austin County Soil Conservation Award Winner.

Dick enjoyed watching his grandchildren and deer hunting. He was a farmer and rancher all his life. He was the last peanut farmer in Austin County. Dick enjoyed attending cattle shows. He also enjoyed going to the sale barn and the truck stop to enjoy fellowship with all his friends.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn; daughter, Donna Wilke; grandchildren, Morgan and Macey Wilke; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Dorothy Brune. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Suella Janszen; bother, Harvey Tipp; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Rosa Lee (Wienecke) Lux.
