Wayne Earl Uhlig was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Cat Spring, Texas, the son of Arnold and Gladys Theuman
Uhlig.
He grew up and attended school in Bellville, graduating from Bellville High School in 1952.
Wayne served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 during the Korean War era with dedication
and patriotism.
All those who loved him, will miss his kindness, but most of all a memory of him driving his beloved
tractor on his ranch. Wayne was forever the loving father, the friend, and the neighbor, who could always be counted on. He was an ordinary man with an
extraordinary gift of love and understanding.
Wayne passed away in Humble, on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He was surrounded by his family as he
entered into eternal rest at the age of 76.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Jennifer Sofranko and her husband George of Kingwood; son Gregory
Bryan Uhlig of Pasadena; grandson Zack Meruelo of College Station; brother Robert Uhlig and his wife LaVerne of Cat Spring; cousin Larry Uhlig of Cat Spring.
He is also survived by numerous other family and dear friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Gladys Uhlig.
Visitation was 11 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville.
Funeral service was Monday, July 25, 2011, at noon, Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor
Kevin Haug, officiating.
