Robert Richard (Bob) Whippte of Georgetown passed away on Feb. 14, 2011.
He was born on July 3, 1930 in Nebraska City, Neb. to the late Loudore and Francis (Fields) Whipple.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Whipple, of Georgetown a daughter Margo Dwyer of Grundy
Center, IA, daughter Bobbi Murrell and husband Don of Georgetown, Texas and sons Michael Whipple of Kingwood and Richard Whipple and wife Jessica of Spring.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition he leaves behind his sister
JoAnn Hobbie of Nebraska City, Neb. and brother Thomas (Tom) Whipple of Kingsland, Texas.
After high school graduation Bob spent 7 years in the U.S. Navy. Upon being discharged in 1955 he returned to
Nebraska where he met the love of his life and was married that same year. He retired from Allied Signal Corp. as Manager of Distribution after 28 years of
Bob was an avid golfer and spent many years enjoying this sport that he loved. He was a member of the Masonic
Lodge and a past member of the BPOE.
A celebration of Bobís life will be held at his home in Sun City, 115 Warbler Way, Georgetown, from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. on the 12th day of March 2011. The celebration will be continued with a golf outing at 2 p.m. on the Legacy Hills course at Sun City in Georgetown.
Bob will be the first to tee off with a moment of silence and prayer.
