Dr. James Harold “Jamie” Marek, 51, of Industry, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, peacefully at his home.

He was born April 23, 1962, in Brenham, the son of Bobby and Bernice Hueske Marek. 

Jamie is survived by his sons Casey   Harold Marek and Alex James Marek; wife Mary Kay Marek; stepsons Edwin and Ryder; brother Dennis Marek and Bobby Marek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Jamie was a much loved, respected and admired veterinarian in Bellville for almost 30 years. His many clients were like family to him. He was surrounded by a loving and supportive staff.  Jamie was a lifelong musician, he was passionate about music and singing. 

Jamie enjoyed building, woodworking and landscaping.  He enjoyed attending St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring.  Jamie was a lifelong conservative and an avid follower of politics.

 Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014, Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville.

 Funeral serice: 3 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Kevin Haug, officiating.

Interment: Industry Brethren Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Randy Estep,    Wayne Peschel, Greg Hueske, Jim Wenman, Rusty Gregor, Dennis Marek.

Honoray pallbearers: Mr. Gentry, Casey Marek, Alex Marek, Joe Mengus.
