Obituary - Rites set for Bruno Michaelis
Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in Patterson & Snivley Chapel for Bruno A. Michaelis, veteran service volunteer who died Sunday at
age 79.
A native of Cat Springs, Tex and a disabled veteran of World War I. Mr. Michaelis was a familar figure at Long Beach Veterans Hospital
where he acted as volunteer receptionist for the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Order of the Purple Heart, and other groups. He often provided
transportation for veterans.
He was active in Moore Memorial Church.
Surviving are his wife Mary; a stepson Kenneth Michaelis, and step daughters Mrs. Marjorie Kemp & Mrs. Elfrieda Staley.
Internment will be in Westminster Memorial Park, with military honors.
