Dwayne Odis Rainer, 64, was born Jan. 11, 1947,
Shreveport, La. to Duey and Marjorie Rainer.
He grew up in Louisiana and attended school in Shreveport and Baker, graduating from Baker High
School in 1965.
On Oct. 27, 1973, he married Lois Rudloff in Bellville at St. John Lutheran Church. Dwayne and
Lois lived in Houston, Sealy and Bellville before making their home in Sealy.
Dwayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching fast pitch softball and grilling. He was in the
United States Army Reserves for five years. He also was a member of the Sealy Booster Club and on the board of directors for the Sealy Little League.
Dwayne passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at his home in Sealy after a brave struggle with
cancer. He was surrounded by his wife and three daughters when he passed away.
Dwayne is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Lois Rudloff Rainer; daughters Shannon Hanath
and her husband Kevin, Laura Kaye and her husband Stephen and Myra Rainer and her fiancé Brian Doyle and grandchildren Kerstyn and Blaine Hanath,
Cutter and Kenadie Kaye, and Chloe Doyle.
He is also survived by his sister Pennie Kelley; niece Jill Hien and her husband
Dirk; nephew Adam Jackson; and other family and dear friends.
Dwayne also leaves behind a very special four legged companion, Precious, his dog that will
miss him very much.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents Duey and Marjorie Rainer, brother Steve Rainer and
father-in-law and mother-in-law Eugene and Ester Rudloff.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Muery, Lee Charles Goebel, Caleb McCrary, Ernest McCoslin, Cary Burnley
and Ryan Eckelberg. Visitation was held on June 7, 2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 8,
2011, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jennie Jones and Rev. Skip Stutts officiating.
Interment followed in the Millheim Cemetery in Millheim.
