Ethelyn Sanders of Cat Spring died May 26 in Clute at 91 years of age.
Sanders was born in Cutler, Cali.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 30 at 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, located at
480 Ross Street in Cat Spring with Rev. Kevin Haug officiating.
Interment will be at Cat Spring Cemetery in Cat Spring.
Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday,
Ms. Maurranda Terrene Jackson (Rock) was born in
Sealy, Austin County, Texas on July 14, 1965 to Myrtle Jackson and Roy Lester Jackson.
Ms. Jackson grew up in Sealy and later
moved to Texas City, where she attended public school.
Mauranda confessed a hope in Christ at an early
age and united with Progressive Baptist Church in Texas City under the leadership of Rev. M. C. Bridges. Upon returning to Sealy, Mauranda joined Bethel
Baptist Church, Sealy under the leadership of Rev. Charles B. Frazier, Pastor.
She was loved by all who knew her. She loved to
shop for the latest tennis shoes and cook. Slow to smile but had a big heart for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy
Lester Jackson and her grandparents Rev. Willie Green and Mrs. Viola Green, Mrs. Mary Jackson and Mr. John Jackson.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her
life: her mother Mrs. Myrtle Jackson and step-father Robert Fletcher of Sealy; two sisters Cedra Jackson and Jo`Nika Jackson Sealy; three brothers Royce
Kevin Jackson of Sealy, Aubrey Thomas and William Thomas of Texas City; two step-brothers Andre` Fletcher and Niken Fletcher of Texas City; one god-daughter
Abrah Flores and grandson of Richmond; three nieces and a nephew of Sealy; five aunts Ruby Taylor of Fort Worth, Mary McGlory and Earth McEntyre of Temple,
Bobby Seals and Ruby Whiting of Sealy; two uncles Wilton (Juanita) Jackson of Texas City and Curtis Long of Caldwell, Texas; a close friend Jackie Lacy;
honorable mention Donna Bolden, Vicki Roberson, Darlene Downey, Regina and Jade; and great nieces and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
