This unprecedented effort will map humanity's genetic journey through the ages.

http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/fsahtml/fahome.html The black-and-white photographs of the Farm Security Administration- Office of War Information Collection are a landmark in the history of documentary photography. The images show Americans at home, at work, and at play, with an emphasis on rural and small-town life and the adverse effects of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and increasing farm mechanization. Some of the most famous images portray people who were displaced from farms and migrated West or to industrial cities in search of work. In its latter years, the project documented America's mobilization for World War II. The collection includes about 164,000 black-and-white negatives; this release provides access to over 160,000 of these images. The FSA-OWI photographers also produced about 1600 color photographs.

http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc/ Brigham Young University online archive. Joseph Smith, the founder of this Church said, "The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead." The intent of this archive is to help people everywhere identify ancestors and learn from their legacy.'

League City Genealogy Society website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txlcgs2/ Just a short drive away to see some good programs listed on their website.

KidzGenWeb -- http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwkidz.  This site is for children and teens so that  they are able to post surnames, queries and class room genealogy  projects so that other children/teens or adults may be able to help them  with their search.  Only children can post surnames and queries,  however, adult researchers can answer the queries or post helpful  hints.

Freepages directory at Rootsweb -- http://freepages.rootsweb.com/directory  These are automated alphabetized listings of the user entry page titles, and most people who build their own pages do a poor job of titling when they do it at all.  The categories (or 'communties') of "Genealogy" and "Family" might be of most interest, but I also found an extensive web site under "History" for Dallas County with hundreds of old articles.

LoneStar Genealogy -- www.lonestargenealogy.com  LoneStar Genealogy was 1 of 10 worldwide websites recommended by Texas Highways magazine, June 2003 issue.

Census Diggins -- http://www.censusdiggins.com/ -- "Home of FREE databases!".  Very interesting site with a bunch of links.  If you subscribe to their newsletter that shows updated databases, you are entered in a drawing.

Census Finder -- http://www.censusfinder.com -- Census Finder contains over 17,000 links to Federal census records, state census records, tax lists, city directories, veterans' census records and much more.
