HISTORY: John Prokop built the house. He numbered the rocks and moved them from another place from a plan he copied from some place.. He was a German immigrant shoemaker who lived behind the old depot on Rosewood in his later years. Annabelle (Massey) Pfeiffer remembers, "He (John Prokop) lived in back of us on Depot, now Rosewood. He mended my children's sandals once. When he was very old and ill, he died in a fire that destroyed his home on Rosewood. He had several daughters. One of these was taken in, raised and educated by Agnes Clegg."
