My name is Angela Walling and I am the TXGenWeb Project county coordinator for this page. Baylor County has a lot of history and I hope that you will join me in learning about and preserving as much of our county as we can.
If you have photos, family histories, stories, historical information, etc., that you would like to share on this site, please contact_me.
If you're doing genealogy research, and your family was from Baylor County, you've come to the right place! You'll find a lot of links, on this page, to genealogy resources. You can also ask for help looking up information. Baylor County Lookup VolunteersIf you would like to volunteer to help with lookups, let me know.
After many request, Salt Pork to Sirloin Volumes I and II have both been reprinted and are available at the Baylor County Museum. Both books are full of information, history and photos of the county. There are still Baylor County Heritage Cookbooks available, too. The cookbooks not only contain delicious recipes from the area but bits of history and photos, also.
The Baylor_County_Museum is located at 116 N. Washington St, Seymour, Texas 76380 and is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. The museum can also be reached by calling 940-889-6780 or email baylorcomuseum@srcaccess.net

Other Genealogical Links
The county library has burial records from 1916 through 1939 but no one to search them. The Seymour Memorial Funeral Home has records of their burial from 1939 to the present and will search if you have the date. You can also go to the TXGenWeb Archives for Baylor County as Dorman Holub has transcribed them. The Baylor Banner has some of their back issues on film and will make a quick search but due to costs must limit the time spent searching. If anyone knows of information sources for Baylor County or if you will volunteer to help with lookups in BaylorCounty, please e-mail Angela.
