Victoria Advocate February 3, 2003 He was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Hillje, to the late Frank W. and Albina Polansky Baca. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus. He was a former longtime member of Matagorda County Livestock and Rodeo Association and a former member of the Markham Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired pumper with Skelly and Getty Oil. Survivors: wife, Mildred Mayer Baca; daughter, Nancy Vavra of Markham; son, Michael Baca of Red Oak; and one grandchild. Preceded in death by: parents; sister, Lillie Dornak; and brothers, Arnold Baca, Fred Baca, Edward Baca and Victor Baca. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Taylor Bros.
