Octavia G. Baca, 87, of Fayetteville and recently a resident of Monument Hill Nursing Center in La Grange, died Thurs Nov 1 in Fayette Memorial Hospital, La Grange.

 
Funeral services were held Sat Nov 3 at 3PM in St. John's Catholic Church, Fayetteville, with Rev. Msgr. Ben Mazurkiewicz officiating. A C.D.A., KJZT and Altar Society Rosary and Prayer Service was held at 6:30 PM Fri at Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville.

She was born Sept 30 1914 in Waller, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Mikulenka Prasatik. She was united in marriage with Edmund A. Baca April 25 1934 in Chappell Hill.

Beside being a homemaker, she and her husband operated a store in Fayetteville for many years. She was a member of St. John's Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Altar Society, St. John's Church Choir and the Czech Singers.

Surviving are one daughter, Gloria Baumbach and husband E. H. of La Grange; one son, E. J. Baca and wife Ruth of Carrollton; one sister-in-law, Alice Prasatik of Austin; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Nov 19 1992 and a brother.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Catholic church in Fayetteville.

Services were under the direction of the Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home, La Grange.
