Laura Baca, 92, of La Grange died July 24 [2002] at Care Inn of La Grange.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 27 [2002] at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange with burial in the La Grange City Cemetery. The Rev. Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz officiated.

Born June 3, 1910 in Plum, she was the daughter of John and Anastasia (Blaha) Supak. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include three daughters, Irene Polasek and husband Jerry and Cathy Walla, all of La Grange, and Verline Hubenak and husband Jesse of El Campo; three sons, Daniel Baca of La Grange, Leonard Baca and wife Dorothy of Mt. Belview and Edwin Baca and wife Carol of Houston; one daughter-in-law, Linda Bargainer and husband Tim of Port Arthur; one sister, Mary Hajek of West Point; eight grandsons; three granddaughters, three great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bernard Baca; one grandson, David Walla; one granddaughter, Belinda Baca; one daughter-in-law, Alfrieda Baca; two brothers, Edmund and Edward Supak; two sisters, Alga Vlasek and an infant sister.

Memorial contributions should be made to Sacred Heart School Fund or Sacred Heart Parish.

Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
