Gonzales - Irene Bessie Baker, 76, of Gonzales, died Sunday, March 2, 2003.

She was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Colorado County, to the late John Sternadel and Selma Schornack.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Gonzales and of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors: husband, Emmet J. Baker Sr.; daughters, Mariann Kitzman of Pattison and Ilene Gohmert of Cuero; sons, Ronald R. Baker, Emmet J. Baker Jr. and Lee Baker, all of Gonzales; sisters, Rose Rainosek of Hallettsville and Bernice Lacina of Yoakum; brother, Walter Sternadel of Goliad; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; and sisters, Earline Sternadel and Margaret Eilers.

Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Ildiko Rigney officiating.

Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery. Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales, 830-672-3232.
