Funeral services for Nora A. Banik, 84, of Round Top were held Tues Jan 15 2002 at 2PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial in Richter Cemetery in Round Top. Rev. John Nedbalek officiated.

Banik died Jan 13 in Fayette Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept 1 1917 in the Nassau Community in Fayette County, the daughter of Edwin and Agnes Hackemack Weyand. She married Albert A. Banik Sept 30 1934 in Round Top TX. A homemaker, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Edwin Gau, Jr. of Round Top; a daughter-in-law, Waldine Banik of Round Top; sister-in-law, Rosline Weyand of Round Top; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annie and Robert Banik of Round Top; grandchildren, Sharon Banik and friend, Clay Trautner of Salt Lake City, Utah; Gerry Banik and wife Jan and Jeffery Gau and wife Cathy of Round Top; two great-grandchildren, Dustyn and Gerran Banik of Round Top; two stepgreatgrandchildren, Amber and Jace Kelly; and special caregivers, Connie Pavlicek, Delfina Estrada, and Linda Geeslin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1984; son, Stuart Banik in 2001; brother, Nelson Weyand; and parents, Edwin and Agnes Hackemack Weyand.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.

Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home, La Grange, was in charge of arrangements.
