A shock to the entire community was the death of Mrs. Baros on March 6, 1933, at her home at the Commercial Hotel Monday evening about 6 o'clock. She was up and about Saturday and only complained slightly. Heart failure caused her death.

The deceased was born in Colorado County on April 7, 1871. Her maiden name was Martinak and she was married to Frank Baros in 1888 in Colorado County Tx. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Lavaca County to reside.

To this union 13 children were born. One son, Jim, died at the age of 14 in 1925. Frances Baros and Mary Baros died in infancy. Those who survive are Willie J. Baros and Albert L. Baros of Yoakum; John A. Baros of Moulton; Frank M. Baros, Jr. of Kokernot; Charles F. Baros of Gonzales; Rudy James Baros of Randolph Field, San Antonio; and Martin Baros of Shiner; and Mrs. C. M. (Christine) Lentschke of Houston; Mrs. J. P. (Justine) Allen of San Benito; and Miss Celestina (Sally) Baros at home. There also survive 14 grandchildren; one brother, John Martinak, Jr. of Albany, Oregon; and three sisters, Mrs. Fridirich (Barbora) Beran of Caldwell and Mrs. Joe (Josephine "Sophie") Noska of Caldwell; and Mrs. Vince (Johanna) Krenek, Sr. of Fayetteville.

Her nephews who served as pallbearers were Ed Janish and Frank Janish of Fayetteville; Robert Walla and William Walla of Flatonia; Frank Walla Jr. of Ellinger; and Leo Krenek of Fayetteville.

Funeral services were held from the family home Wednesday at 10 o'clock, thence to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Father Netardus conducted all services.

The funeral was largely attended and the funeral offerings were many and very beautiful. To the sorrowing loved ones the Gazette offers sincere sympathy.
