Gonzales County - Robert Gene "Bobby Gene" Barta, 63, of Gonzales County, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003.

He was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Gonzales County to Petronilla Volf Barta of Gonzales and the late Adolph Barta Sr. He was a petroleum engineer.

Survivors: wife, Wanda Barber Barta; sons, Lorne Dale Barta, Rodney Gene Barta and Max Lee Barta, all of Gonzales; stepsons, Brian Keith Williford of Corpus Christi and D. Scott Williford of Mountain Home; mother; sister, Loretta Spahn of Gonzales; and brothers, Adolph Barta Jr. and Marvin Barta, both of Gonzales.

Preceded in death by: first wife, Esta Lee Michelson Barta; and father.

Family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home chapel

Graveside services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at the Barta Family Cemetery, the Rev. Clint Lowery officiating. Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales, 830-672-3232.
