Abstract of Obituary.

 
Memorial services for Albert Clarence Bartek, 67, of Abilene were held Nov 21 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith in Abilene with Rev. Roland Williams officiating.

Bartek died Nov 17 in Abilene. He was born Apr 28, 1933 in Temple, Tx. Bartek graduated from SMU and led a career in the US Air Force. During 28 years of service in the US Air Force, he served time in Viet Nam, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Air Medals with multiple Oak Leaves, Meritorious Service Medal and various Viet Nam War medals. He retired in 1984 in Abilene.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Jerre Ann Hang of Aspermont, Tx, Peggy Dell Walla of Columbus and Mitzi Louise Harris of Flowermound, Tx; 2 sons, Benny Aden Bartek of Abilene and Rodney Phillip Bartek of Splendora; wife of 41 years, Pamela Jo Bartek; 3 sisters, Annabelle Meyers and La Nell Walts, both of Killeen, and Jo Mildred Humphrey of Pasadena; twin brother, Major Adelbert Phillip Bartek of Royal Palm Beach, Frl., and 13 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Drury, Don McKee, Dave McBride, Ralph Whitehead and Beryl Cloud.
