Sunday February 11, 2001 Abstract of Obituary. He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Chriesman, to the late John V. and Annie Bartek. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and a life-member of VFW Post 4458. He was a member of Deanville Sons of Hermann Lodge and St. John's Lutheran Church in Deanville. Survivors: wife, Viola Zwernemann; daughters, Lori Chmelar and Shelia Bartek, both of Caldwell; sons, J.D. Barek Jr. of Flatonia, Marvin Bartek of Austin and Carl Bartek of Caldwell; and 11 grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. William R.
