Victoria Advocate February 7, 2002 He was born April 13, 1931, in Lavaca County, to the late William Joseph and Mary Janak Barton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired crane operator with Brown and Root Construction Company. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2433 in Hallettsville, KJT, Catholic Life, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth and Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home. Survivors: wife, Irene Grahmann Barton; daughters, Joan Marie Barton of Koerth, Rose Marie Koehl of Columbus and Lorie Ann Drummond of Hallettsville; sons, John Joseph Barton of Sweet Home, Mark Anthony Barton of Koerth, James Edward Barton and Jeffery Paul Barton, both of Victoria; sisters, Julie Pavliska and Lucille Jalufka, both of Koerth, and Mary Golsch of Hallettsville; and 12 grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents; and brother, Adolph Barton. A wake services will be 7 p.m. tonight at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home.
