Waco Tribune Herald Tuesday Feb. 26, 2002 Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 26) at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco with the Rev. Tom Clark and the Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. Mr. Barton was born August 18, 1918 in |Abbott, the son of Joseph and Mollie Barton. He married Gladys Prause on FEb. 21, 1943 in Temple. They had just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. He attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1955. He was a nursing instructor for Waco VA Hospital where he worked for more than 20 years before retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of the US Army and the National Guard. Raymond enjoyed traveling, square dancing, fishing, playing bridge and spending time with his family who knew him as a very loving person. He was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 54 in West, Waco Downtown Senior Kiwanis Club and Grace Temple Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gladys Barton of Waco; two sons, Dennis Barton & wife Patty of Russelville, Ark. and Larry Barton and wife Karen of Arlington; one daughter, Sandy Dedeluk and husband Robert of Waco; brother, Joe Barton of Waco; two sisters, Esther Tlustos and Josephine Harper, both of Waco; seven grandchildren Corey Barton, Randy Barton, Amy Powell, Courtney Barton, Eric Barton, Amanda Barton and Daniel Dedeluk; two great-grandchildren, Devin & Juliet, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Grace Temple Baptist Church Building
