RUDOLPH ERNEST ECKERMANN

We are gathered here this afternoon to pay our last tributes to Mr. Rudolph Ernest Eckermann, who passed away at 11:30 p.m., Friday, November 16, 1956 at this home southwest of Weimar.

Mr. Eckermann was born November 27, 1890 at Post Oak Point in Austin County to Rudolph and Henrietta Meith Eckermann. In 1912 he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Schubert at Industry, Texas. And to this union of man and wife 2 daughters were given: Elsie and Ruby.

Mr. And Mrs. Eckermann settled on a farm near the community of Schanau until 1929 when they came to Weimar and engaged in farming until 3 years ago when his eye sight failed him in May of 1953. Since then, until four months ago, he was doing fairly well and with hoped until trouble arose in his digestive tract. Having spent several weeks in the hospital at Houston he returned to his home where he became confined to his bedside.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Eckermann, two daughters; Mrs. Steve Grohmann and Mrs. Rudy Gold of Weimar; his 86 year old mother, Mrs. Henrietta Eckermann of Austin, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Edna Rinn of Sharp, Texas and four grandchildren. His father preceded him in death in 1938 and a brother as an infant.

Mr. Eckermann lived and shared his life with us for 66 years, 11 months, and 20 days. He is survived by many relatives and a host of friends.

Rev. Frank Henry Horak, Jr. performing the service.
