Omah Leta Edson, 49, of Bellville, died after a lengthy illness Nov. 27, 2000, in Bryan.

She was born June 12, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Elizabeth Shannon Heistand. She was employed with Tactical Vehicle Systems for Stewart & Stevenson in Sealy.

She is survived by her husband, Paul R. Edson; a son, Derrick Edson; a daughter, Kelly Edson; a grandson, Dylan Edson, all of Bellville and her parents.

Honoring her wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date with her cremated remains being interred in a Missouri cemetery.

Cremation arrangements are with Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
