El Campo Leader-News 2 Jul 2003 Vera Eggemeyer, 87, of Blessing, died Monday, June 30, 2003. She was born Sept. 17, 1915 in Fayetteville to Ignac and Veronyka Holub Shimek. Mrs. Eggemeyer was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing, KJZT and DAV Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Schneider of Blessing and husband Glenn; sons, Norbert Eggemeyer and wife Edith of El Campo, Butch Eggemeyer and wife Sharon of Victoria, Gene Eggemeyer and wife Paige of Palacios, Victor Eggemeyer and wife Mable of Palacios and Freddy Eggemeyer of Palacios; 15 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Eggemeyer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbard Eggemeyer; sisters, Albina Tymel, Mary Orsak, Emilie Jordan and Rosie Dornak; and brothers, Sigmund, Adolph, Johnnie and Ignac Shimek. Visitation is today, Wednesday, July 2 at 1 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services are Thursday, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with the Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park in El Campo. Pallbearers are Greg Eggemeyer, Vance Eggemeyer, Curtis Eggemeyer, Justin Eggemeyer, Brady Eggemeyer, Zane Eggemeyer, and Wes Schneider. Memorials can be made to Hillje Czech Catholic Home, St. Peter's Catholic
