She was born October 6, 1900 near Moravia, Texas. Her parents were Mary Matula Hajek and Josef Hajek.

She was a retired school teacher having taught at Brown School, Moravia, Orange Grove, and Robstown for 35 years.

She married Edgar H. Eggert on August 13, 1922 in Hallettsville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by one son, Aldon Eggert in 1956 and by her husband of 67 years, Edgar H Eggert in October 1989.

She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Dolores and Melvin Hinze of Robstown and Mary Louise and Reynold Vaselka of Taft; two sons and their spouses, Edgar,Jr. and Evelyn Eggert of Mathis, Texas and Clinton and Valerie Eggert of Corpus Christi; one sister, Mary Trojcak of Hallettsville; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral sevices will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.
